Elektrobit Ident - Elektrobit / Wooshii

I was commissioned by Wooshii to create the sonic branding for automotive software company Elektrobit (the sound for the logos at the start and the end of the film linked on this page). The brief was to create a sound that was modern, clean, powerful and inspirational. I began by researching the most memorable sonic brands and analysing what made them successful. Through this research, I decided that the sound needed to be simple enough that it could easily be sung back, but with enough unique elements to make it stand out and fit the company’s brand. I chose a mainly synthesised palette to reflect the brand’s innovation in software and also included acoustic instruments such as piano and strings to help the ident feel timeless. The melody mimics the number of syllables in the word “El-ek-tro-bit” to strengthen the association between the sound and the brand. My favourite part was the inclusion of a musical easter egg - the ident is in the key of E flat, which when written in it’s musical form looks like this - E♭(Elektro…♭it - get it?).
